Lengkong Link Urban Design – Indonesia

For an urban design project I traveled to Indonesia to study an informal settlement in Yogyakarta. After spending time and observing life in a section of the settlement, I proposed an urban intervention that got the community excited. The outcomes of this project inspired me to pursue evidence-based design methods in the built environment.

East Devonport Child and Family Centre Play Space

This playground is part of a new community centre offering counselling and health support for families. Inspired by environmental research showing that natural, multi-sensory environments support a child's brain development, I developed a place that encouraged imaginative play with nature for very young children.

Queens Domain Legacy Park Community Hub

A multi-million dollar community hub that includes the restoration of an ANZAC memorial walk, amphitheatre, a children’s playscape, a couple of community buildings, a community pizza oven and new carpark.

Heritage Convict-built Bridge

New Bridgewater Bridge Urban Design & Visual Impact Assessment

A $750-million new bridge was proposed to replace a convict-built causeway to become the northern gateway to/from Hobart, Tasmania. I created visually accurate photo-montages to assess impact to landscape character and developed urban design interventions.

Albury Cultural Precinct

Albury City had a long-term vision to create a contemporary, vibrant and exciting inner-city space for a growing regional centre. I designed the master plan so that civic and historic buildings were unified around a landscape with a mixture of small intimate spaces and large event spaces.

Richmond Primary School Playground

Based on environmental research showing the benefits of nature, I designed this playground to encourage imaginative play for primary school kids. Elements of the space include a hill, textured and aromatic plants, a stage, a sand pit and a pebble river with a water tap.
